Short pieces that fit compact tabletop konro and shichirin grills. A practical choice for yakitori counters and small-format grilling where the fire bed is shallow.
DetailsCV. ABRA produces hardwood binchotan in traditional kilns in East Java and ships it to restaurants, distributors and importers. In production since 2018, exported to Japan, China, South Korea and Belgium.

Binchotan is the hard, dense charcoal that Japanese grill cooking is built around. Hardwood is carbonised slowly in a kiln, pushed to very high temperature at the end of the burn, then pulled out and smothered in ash, earth and sand. That quenching leaves a pale grey coat on the surface, which is why it is called white charcoal.
The result behaves differently from ordinary black charcoal. It is slow to light, but once it is going it gives steady, radiant heat with very little smoke, flame or smell, and it leaves little ash. That is why yakitori, yakiniku, robatayaki and unagi kitchens rely on it: the heat cooks the food without covering its flavour.
Ours is made from palawan, a dense hardwood from Kalimantan, fired at about 1,200 °C and sorted by length before packing.

Three grades, all 2.5–5 cm in diameter and packed in 15 kg export cartons. Pick by the depth and width of your grill.
